Symbiosis of Spontaneous Hypercycles through Self-Compartmentation

چکیده

The objective of this paper is to develop a mechanism enabling spontaneous hypercycles to coexist. Hypercycle models, arising from local interactions, are a promising approach to emergent computation because of their powerful self-organizing behavior and flexible reaction schemes. However, theoretical studies have shown that this powerful self-organizing ability fails to allow the symbiosis of spontaneous hypercycles, and, therefore, some missing links still remain to be solved concerning the process by which hypercycles manage to conserve themselves from others. This paper implements a dynamics that works as a filter to control local interactions, and demonstrates a process whereby macro conservative hypercycles may emerge through self-organizing compartmentation. The crucial point of this study regards the meta-interactions that take place between the genotypic atomic reactions and the phenotypic potential field.
